Description
Hand thrown on a kick-wheel; from stoneware clay sourced in South Australia, with a glaze developed by and unique to Katespots. Holds 3-4 mugs tea approximately 550 – 600 ml tea.
Reduction fired in small gas kiln to 1280 degrees. Kate’s work is influenced by British Studio Pottery of the mid 20th century and traditional Japanese ceramics.
With a long history in art & ceramics, Kate studied in Tasmania under master potters Les Blakeborough, Hobart CAE and Rynne Tanton, Launceston CAE followed by 3 years in the Ceramics Workshop, Jam Factory Adelaide.
Each piece having its own unique character with no two being the same, although having design and purpose in common with similar feel; a pleasure to use and to hold.
